About
The nation's best high-tech learning facility for electricians.
The St. Louis Electrical Industry Training Center has trained electricians and communication technicians for decades — funded jointly by labor and management, governed by the people doing the work.
Who we are
The St. Louis Electrical Industry Training Center is managed by the St. Louis Area Electricians Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (JATC), composed of representatives from IBEW Local #1 and the electrical contractors signatory to the IBEW agreement, including members of the St. Louis Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
Our mission: train and educate electrical industry apprentices and journeymen in all aspects of electrical and communication work to the highest levels of quality, skill, integrity, value and safety.
What we teach
- Established and emerging electrical-construction technologies
- Continuing education for journeyman electricians and communication technicians
- Customized training that addresses specific facility owner and customer needs
- Code, safety, and equipment-specific manufacturer training
Funding & commitment
Our programs receive over $2 million annually in combined funding from IBEW and NECA. The rigor of our training far exceeds any non-IBEW program in the region — that investment is what produces a knowledgeable, reliable electrical workforce for the contractors and owners who hire our members.
Recognition
The St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers has repeatedly awarded the local electrical construction industry's training programs the Construction Industry Cost Effectiveness Award.
